RDC-TR-13-1 - Measuring Latency in Windows Azure using a Collaborative 3D Environment
Cloud Computing has turned into the new computing paradigm due to its multiple advantages such as on-demand scalability or rapid elasticity. Windows Azure and other Cloud platforms are well suited for implementing and deploying rapidly and scalable 3D interactive multi-user environments, which have constraint delay requirements. This kind of environments may be difficult to synchronize due to network and cloud-operation delays. We present a guide to success on debugging and deploying an example implementation of such an application, a shared 3D Teapot in Windows Azure, and a measurements-based discussion of performance enhancement when scaling the application.
